Google SERP Snippet Preview
Write your title and description, and see precisely how your page will look in Google — with real pixel-width truncation, so you know what gets cut off before you publish.
Preview is an approximation of Google's current desktop and mobile layout. Google may rewrite titles or descriptions for some queries.
Why pixels, not just characters
Google truncates by width, not character count. A title full of wide letters (W, M, capital letters) gets cut sooner than one of narrow letters (i, l, t). This tool measures the actual rendered width, so the green/amber/red status reflects what Google will really show. Aim to keep your title under ~600px and your description under ~920px on desktop.
Front-load the important words. Whatever sits past the cut-off still helps relevance, but the searcher never sees it.

Frequently asked questions
How long should a title tag be?
Google truncates titles at roughly 600 pixels, which is about 50–60 characters. This tool measures actual pixel width, since wide letters like W and M take more space than i or l.
How long should a meta description be?
Aim for about 150–160 characters. Google typically displays up to roughly 920 pixels on desktop before cutting the description with an ellipsis.
Does Google always use my meta description?
No. Google may rewrite the description to better match a query, but a clear, compelling description still wins clicks when it is used, which is often.
